I found this scat in Silver Falls State Park in the foothills of the Cascade Range in Oregon.

Answer

The scat is about 10 inches long and 2 inches in diameter. It contains both black animal protein and fruit (western crabapple). Black bears are common in this area and have a varied diet and leave copious scats like this.
