Darners (Aeshna sp.)

Comment. Field identification of the matrix Darners is difficult. To make matters worse, the males are usually in constant flight. Pay particular attention to the diagonal thorax stripes and the appendages tip. Kerst and Gordon (2011) provide an excellent identification guide that covers both males and femails.
