Walker's Darner (Aeshna walkeri)

Male. Klickatat County, Washington. September, 2012.
This photo was taken just a couple days after the first state record of this species was taken at the same spot on Major Creek (just east of Catherine Creek).

Closeup of the top view of the head to more clearly show how the T-spot arms angle back.

Jenny Creek, Jackson County, Oregon.

NOTE: This species is widespread in California but uncommon in Oregon and a recent record for Washington. It resembles the Paddle-tailed Darner but has a T-spot with arms angled back, no blue spot on its last segment (S10), and borders on the thorax stripes.
