I have photographed most northwest butterflies and dragonflies but until now have done little with moths, bees, wasps, beetles, flies, spiders, etc. Oregon has about 500 species of bees and probably several times that number of wasps, so I have just scratched the surface.
Only recently have resources for insects other than butterflies and dragonflies become readily available. Some of these cover all of North America (e.g., Bees in Your Backyard or Bumble Bees of North America) while others focus in on just Oregon or the Northwest (e.g., Pacific Northwest Insects or Willamette Valley Bee Guide). Often a website such as iNaturalist or BugGuide can be used to check a tentative ID or provide more examples.
