Trips

During trips to areas outside the Pacific Northwest, I photograph birds, wildlife, butterflies, and dragonflies when possible. My trips typically focus on one of these, but I try to photograph all that I encounter. To present species in taxonomy order (rather than randomly as photo websides do), I organize photos in MS Word and post the final document as a PDF.

Trips to Australia:

During spring trips to Australia with Wild Latitudes in 2016, 2019, and 2022, I was able to photograph some of the unique mammals, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and Great Barrier reef fish. These trips covered Cairns, Atherton Tablelands, Great Barrier Reef boat trip, Sydney, Tasmania, and Kakadu National Park.

Trip to Uganda

A 2/2023 Wild Latitudes trip to Uganda was my introduction to Africa. From Entebbe, we drove to Lake Moura, Bwindi Impenetrale, Queen Elisabeth, and Kibale National Parks, then made a dash to Mambamba Swamp for the Shoebill. Our group saw lots of birds and big game mammals. In every spare moment, I also photographed any butterflies and dragonflies that I encountered, though it was the end of the dry season and we were not targeting wet places so only a modest number were seen.
