Corvids

The corvid family includes crows, ravens, jays, and magpies. Tracks may be found in a various locations. Since they often walk on the ground, the tracks usually show an alternating stride though hops are also seen. You can often observe wing marks, especially in snow.

Raven

Our Raven is usually found in the mountains or on the high desert. The track length is up to 4".

Crow

Crows are wide spread in our area. The track is about 3" long.

Gray Jay

The Gray Jay is a year around resident of our western mountains. It will often approach quite closely when it thinks that you may feed it your lunch scraps.

Scrub Jay

The Scrub Jay is a common resident of the Willamette valley.

Black-billed Magpie

The magpie is widespread in the West.
